I spent a few weeks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in May visiting family and meeting with Professor Ihsan Ali Vice Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. I have been given land by the University on a number of sites in the region to build schools. We have established The Pakhtun School Foundation.

The purpose of this Endowment fund is to establish schools in the Pakhtun area of the province. To begin with a standard primary school will be stablished in the University under the fund. Further schools will be established on different campuses of the University for the poor and needy people in the areas.

The Pakhtoon Schools Project brochure outlines the development of the project and my partnership with Sheffield University School of Architecture and  Khan Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan. The brochure is a proposal to individuals, groups and organisations who are interested in supporting and funding a humanitarian initiative to build and sustain schools using local skills and supporting teacher training in Pakistan.

British Builder, daily news for developers and house builders, writes about Schools project gets international backing.

Sheffield University School of Architecture have organised a two day seminar on the 28th and 29th October linked to the Pakhtoon Building Schools Project.

Part of the seminar will involve a presentation by Professor Ishan Ali Vice Chancellor of Mardan University in Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa who will give a talk on the archaeology and history of the region where the proposed school will be built.
